Invisalign®

Dr. Freshte Esfahanian at Prosthodontics & Implant Therapy in Tampa, Florida, is a certified Invisalign provider. If you are an adult or teen, who desires straighter teeth, a proper bite, and a beautiful smile, she will happily examine you to determine if Invisalign is an appropriate treatment option for you. She and her team will answer all your questions, and with full information, you will be able to comfortably make your treatment decision.

Because Invisalign treatment can correct for mild to moderate crowding of teeth and for mile to moderate teeth spacing problems, it is appropriate for the majority of patients seeking alignment of their teeth. Invisalign may even be used to treat a mild to moderate under-bite or over-bite.

Because Invisalign orthodontic treatment moves teeth comfortably without unsightly wires and brackets, it is the number one choice of patients in the United States today.

Here’s how Invisalign works.

We will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth, and Invisalign will use these to create a digital 3-D image of them. From these images Dr. Esfahanian will prescribe a precise treatment plan, including the exact movements of your teeth, and tell you the approximate length of treatment. Although each patient’s situation is different, treatment typically takes about a year for adults. In the case of teens, the length of treatment is similar to that of traditional wire and bracket braces.

Based on the treatment plan and your impressions, a series of custom-made, clear aligners will be fabricated for you by a certified Invisalign lab. These aligners will be made of a smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic.

As an Invisalign patient, you will wear one aligner over your upper teeth and one over your lower teeth. Approximately every two weeks, you will insert a new set of custom aligners that will gently move your teeth, little by little, into better position. At the end of your treatment, your teeth will have moved into the best position for your bite and smile.

Proper spacing not only improves the appearance of a smile, but also makes it easier for you to eat and clean your teeth. The total result is a confident, happier and healthier you.

The advantages of Invisalign for straightening teeth are clear.

Both teens and adults prefer the Invisalign orthodontic

  • Invisalign aligners are nearly clear.
  • Invisalign aligners are smooth and do not irritate the soft tissue of the mouth.
  • Invisalign aligners are removed for eating, drinking, and cleaning teeth.
  • Invisalign aligners are easy to insert and remove.
  • With the ability to brush and floss all tooth surfaces fully, oral hygiene can be more easily maintained at an optimal level.
  • And, although there is a sensation of pressure and a little tingling for a few hours, when each new set of trays is inserted, Invisalign aligners are comfortable to wear and do not interfere with normal speech.

The great news is that Invisalign does not cost more than traditional braces, and financing options are available.

More great news is that when your teeth are properly spaced and aligned, you will be able to more thoroughly clean all surfaces of your teeth, minimizing bacteria. And, the biting forces of your mouth will be harmonious, minimizing tooth wear. This results in less need for restorative treatment over your lifetime.
